f you’re in business, you’re probably taking payments…right? Well, today I’d like to share a tool I use in my Client Care system to manage my payments: Braintree.
What is Braintree?
Braintree is a full-stack payments platform that makes it easy to accept payments in your app or website. You can also easily take payments over the phone. Their service replaces the traditional model of sourcing a payment gateway and merchant account from different providers. They provide everything you need to accept payments, from one touch payments to mobile SDKs and foreign currency acceptance.
What do I love about it?
I love three things about Braintree.
The first is the automated billing. Instead of having to send an invoice every month and wait for your client/customer to pay it, Braintree will automatically deduct the agreed upon amount from the client’s credit card each month. This greatly increases timely payments!
The second thing I love about Braintree is the ease of taking payments over the phone. With Braintree you don’t have to send an invoice and risk losing a client after a consultation. Instead, you can obtain your clients information during the initial conversation and process the payment immediately.
The third thing I love about Braintree is that in most cases you get your money in two days and there’s no transaction fees for the first $50k! After the first $50k the fees are 2.9% + $.30 per transaction.
Is this a free tool?
Yep! Well, at least in the beginning (your first $50k). Afterward you do pay a fee per transaction (2.9% + $.30).
